ELIZABETH ROBERTSCECCHETTI TEACHER
Elizabeth graduated from The Australian Ballet School in 1980 and in the same year toured as a soloist with the very first Dancers Company (of The Australian Ballet). In the following year she was invited to join the Australian Ballet. As a versatile dancer Elizabeth, later in her career, based herself in London working in the field of commercial dance.
Elizabeth’s formal dancing life began as a Cecchetti student under Lorraine Blackbourne in Melbourne. After her professional dancing years she returned to the Cecchetti method and completed all her major dance exams, including the Enrico Cecchetti Diploma. More recently Elizabeth finalised her teaching qualifications through Cecchetti Ballet Australia Inc and is now a Fellow. She is experienced in teaching vocational students as well as part timers.
Elizabeth holds a Social Sciences degree from Sydney University and is very interested in adolescent wellbeing, particularly young dancers. Dance history and the relationship between dance and visual arts are other major interests.
