Jane originally trained in the Cecchetti method of Classical Ballet in South Australia with Kay Cranwell. She moved to Melbourne to study full-time at the National Theatre Ballet School under Gailene Stock and Gary Norman. She then continued her full-time study in Sydney at the NSW College of Dance under the direction of Kim Trainor and Kelvin Coe. 

At the conclusion of her full-time training, she joined the Contemporary Dance Company and also completed a 4-year diploma in photography.

The many professional, varied and talented teachers that Jane was fortunate to learn from throughout her dance training, inspired her to pursue a career in teaching dance.

In 1990 Jane gained her Associate Teaching qualifications, in 1995 her Associate Diploma qualifications and in 1997 her Licentiate teaching qualifications.  She completed her final teaching examination and was awarded Fellowship (Dist) status in 2012.

Jane gained the prestigious Enrico Cecchetti Diploma (Dist) in 2004.

In 2014 Jane was appointed as an examiner for Cecchetti Ballet Australia.

Jane is co-director of Lane Cove and Roseville Dance Academies and teaches students from Tiny tots to Diploma level daily. Jane is delighted to be teaching the major Cecchetti work to the full -time students at TPA.
