The Tanya Pearson Academy offers elite level classical ballet training for students of all ages, from Tiny Tots through to Young Adults. The Academy, founded by Tanya Pearson OAM in 1971, is renowned for its long history of excellence in classical ballet training.

The Part Time Academy prides itself on its experienced and professional teaching staff, lead by Marie Walton Mahon ARAD RAD RTS, one of Australia’s most respected teachers, teacher trainer and examiner. The teachers and administrative team are committed to maintaining a positive learning environment that fosters self-worth and respect for others.

The part time classical ballet program provides the necessary foundation and coaching to support students who wish to progress to full time classical ballet training, but also those who simply wish to achieve their personal best and gain the most out of their classical ballet training. Complementing the solid ballet training, the Academy also offers classes in Contemporary, Repertoire, Character, Jazz, Pilates and Progressing Ballet Technique.

All TPA students are supported through their Royal Academy of Dance examinations from Primary through to Solo Seal.

Students have the opportunity to perform in the annual Academy Concert alongside the students of the elite TPA Full Time Academy. Part Time students may also have the opportunity to perform with The Sydney City Ballet under the direction of Lucinda Dunn OAM.

The Tanya Pearson Academy is a selective Academy offering quality training to dedicated and talented students. All new students are required to book in to a Pre Enrolment Audition to determine their suitability for the program and appropriate level for commencement.

“I feel inspired by the students and have a deep desire to pass on all I know to them so they can be their best every day and achieve their dreams.”

Lucinda Dunn OAM Artistic Director
