It’s been such a joy to see our students enjoying their classes this term, learn exciting choreography for upcoming productions, and progress well in their classes and syllabus work. We’re so proud of their hard work and dedication — we can’t wait to see them shine on stage next term!

We are honoured to welcome Maree White as a guest artist for our upcoming Senior Workshops this April at Tanya Pearson Academy.

Maree is a former Principal and Leading Soloist with major ballet companies across Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. Her distinguished career spans nearly 20 years on stage and more than 35 years in the industry, with performances in world-renowned cities including London, New York, Beijing, and Vienna.

After receiving a prestigious scholarship to the Vienna State Opera Ballet School, Maree went on to perform with the Vienna State Opera Ballet, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Queensland Ballet, and The Royal New Zealand Ballet. Her repertoire includes many of the classical masterpieces, and she has worked extensively with internationally celebrated choreographers across both classical and contemporary works.

Now dedicated to the next generation of dancers, Maree is passionate about nurturing technical excellence and artistic growth. Her masterful approach to classical coaching helps each dancer unlock their full potential with precision, care, and depth of understanding.

This is a unique opportunity to train with one of Australia’s most experienced and inspiring ballet educators.

Tanya Pearson Academy is delighted to welcome Emily Seymour as our special guest artist for the upcoming Senior Workshops this April.

A Sydney-born artist, Emily began her training at All Starz Performing Arts Studio before completing her full-time studies under Tanya Pearson OAM. Her professional career includes seasons with Houston Ballet II, the Houston Ballet Company, and West Australian Ballet.

Since 2018, Emily has been a featured artist with Sydney Dance Company, performing internationally and working with leading choreographers including Rafael Bonachela, Ohad Naharin, William Forsythe, Alexander Ekman, and Annabelle Lopez Ochoa.

She has also appeared in campaigns for Cartier, LG Australia, and Sydney Fashion Week, showcasing her versatility across both stage and screen.

We are honoured to have Emily lead Contemporary Repertoire Masterclasses as part of our April program.

We warmly welcome all students from Primary Level through to Grade 5 (or equivalent) to join us for two delightful days of dance, creativity, and storytelling through movement.

Students will enjoy classes in Open Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical, Jazz, Flamenco, Pilates, and an engaging Arts & Crafts session, all designed to bring the magical world of Peter Rabbit, Jemima Puddle-Duck, and other favourites to life.

The International Summer Workshops 2025 at Tanya P

The International Summer Workshops 2025 at Tanya Pearson Academy brought together vocational ballet students aged 11 and above from around the world for an extraordinary week of inspiration, artistry, and achievement. One of the most exciting features of the program was the rare opportunity for students to immerse themselves in Balanchine Repertoire, learning the iconic style and technique of one of ballet’s most influential choreographers. In addition to this, participants engaged in intensive training across Ballet, Pointe, Male Coaching, Variation, Contemporary, Character, and the Gyrotonic Method, developing their skills and artistry.

Led by special guest Rainer Krenstetter, former Principal Dancer with Staatsballett Berlin and Miami City Ballet, current Artistic Director of Company Unblanche, and Associate Artistic Director of The Margot Fonteyn Academy of Ballet, the workshops offered a truly unique and inspiring experience.

We are proud to announce that 32 scholarships were awarded to prestigious platforms, including The Margot Fonteyn Academy of Ballet, Unblanche, and Mont Royal Ballet Academy, providing wonderful opportunities for our talented participants. A heartfelt thank you to Rainer Krenstetter for his generosity and support in creating such memorable experiences for our workshop attendees.

Special thanks to our dedicated faculty and guest teachers—Lisa-Maree Cullum, Gilli O'Connell, Josef Brown, Wanda Wojtulewicz-Levine, and Stephanie Hancox—whose passion and expertise inspired every dancer. The workshops fostered a vibrant and supportive environment, where students not only advanced their skills but also formed lasting connections and memories.

What an incredible three days at our Junior Summer Workshops! A fantastic opportunity for students from Primary to Grade 5 (or equivalent) to learn from senior faculty members of our Full-Time & Part-Time Academy, as well as inspiring guest teachers.

Our young dancers explored Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical, Character, Repertoire, Dance Education, and creative Arts & Crafts workshops—a wonderful way to develop both their dance skills and artistic expression. It was a joy to see their enthusiasm in every class!

A heartfelt thank you to our faculty for creating such a special and inspiring experience. We now look forward to an exciting year ahead, with Term 1 commencing next Monday—we can’t wait to see our students back in the studios!
