NATASHA KUSEN
CLASSICAL TEACHER
Natasha Kusen
We welcome Natasha Kusen as classical ballet coach at the Tanya Pearson Academy.
Born in Sydney, Natasha Kusen began her ballet journey at the age of four under the guidance of Nicholina Kuner in Randwick, progressing through the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus to become a Genée finalist in London. Her exceptional talent was recognised early when, in 2001, she was awarded a scholarship at the renowned Prix de Lausanne, leading her to train at The Royal Ballet School under the mentorship of the late Gailene Stock.
While at the RBS, Natasha performed with The Royal Ballet in iconic productions such as Swan Lake, Giselle, La Bayadère, Romeo & Juliet, and Don Quixote, also touring internationally to Russia and Australia. Upon graduating in 2003, she returned home to join The Australian Ballet, where she rose through the ranks to become a Soloist.
Over a distinguished 16-year career with the company, Natasha graced the world’s stages, celebrated for her exquisite technique and the rare artistic depth she brought to every role – a quality that most deeply defined her legacy.
Retiring from the stage in 2019, Natasha now resides in Sydney, embracing her new role as a mother of two and sharing her passion through freelance coaching & adjudicating, continuing to inspire the next generation of dancers with her experience and artistry.
