Child Safe Statement

Child Safe Statement

Tanya Pearson Academy is committed to the safety, wellbeing and dignity of every child and young person in our care. We have zero tolerance for child abuse and harm.

We are guided by the NSW Child Safe Standards. Our commitment includes:

  • A Child Safe Policy and Code of Conduct that all staff, teachers and contractors must read and follow.
  • All staff and contractors working with children hold a valid Working with Children Check, verified with the Office of the Children’s Guardian.
  • Child safe training for all staff and contractors.
  • Listening to children and young people and taking their concerns seriously.
  • Respecting and supporting the cultural safety of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and children with disability.
  • Responding to and reporting all concerns in line with our legal obligations.
