EMMA SANDALL
Emma Sandall is an internationally respected dancer, teacher and choreographer whose career spans major ballet companies, contemporary ensembles and creative platforms across Europe, the United Kingdom, the United States and Australia. Renowned for her musicality, expressive depth and refined technique, Emma brings exceptional artistic insight and professional experience to her work with young dancers.
Born in Sydney, Emma began her early training at Academy Ballet before being awarded the prestigious scholarship at the Prix de Lausanne — one of the world’s most renowned international ballet competitions. This early recognition launched her into an international career with several leading companies. Emma danced with Béjart Ballet Lausanne, The Royal Ballet, Scottish Ballet and West Australian Ballet, performing a broad range of classical, neoclassical and contemporary repertoire and taking on both soloist and principal roles.
Emma is also an accomplished choreographer and creative producer. She co-founded the Perth-based company Ludwig, where her work received international recognition. Her piece Crossing Satie was awarded Third Prize at the Rome International Choreography Competition, and her solo creation BodySong was selected as a finalist for the Stuttgart International Solo‐Tanz‐Theatre Festival. Her creative projects have spanned dance, theatre, film and interdisciplinary collaborations.
Alongside her performance and creative work, Emma is a highly regarded educator and mentor. She has taught dancers across the world and is known for her ability to cultivate artistry, technical clarity, musical sensibility and intelligent movement practice. She has also contributed as a writer for major dance publications, sharing her expertise with a global audience.
As a Guest Artist-in-Residence at the Tanya Pearson Academy, Emma brings a distinguished international career and a multifaceted artistic perspective. Through coaching, repertoire development, masterclasses and mentoring, she offers our students invaluable opportunities to deepen their technique, broaden their creative understanding and engage with the highest standards of professional dance.
