In keeping with Christmas tradition, this enchanting performance will feature Principal Artists and Soloists from The Australian Ballet and the Royal New Zealand Ballet, offering audiences a truly festive experience.
This magical production promises to captivate and entertain audiences of all ages.

Our fabulous performers are to be congratulated for the passion and stage craft that made their roles come to life on stage. They delighted the audiences, and their love of dance and infectious energy were expressed in every show! We congratulate all our amazing students on their outstanding performances! We are so proud of each and every one of you.
A huge thank you to our wonderful Part-time Academy Principal Emma-Jane Morton for her dedication, care, and incredible work involved in pulling this production together!
Our fabulous teaching faculty once again showed their dedication and expertise in preparing, choreographing and staging the dancers so they can perform at their best!
Thank you to Hanna for her wonderful work in costume management, and organisation. A huge amount of stunning costumes were prepared for this production!

Biography:
Born into a dance family in Vienna, Rainer Krenstetter trained at the Ballet School of the Vienna State Opera, later joining the Royal Ballet School in London. His career includes Principal Dancer roles at Staatsballett Berlin and Miami City Ballet, with notable performances in ballets such as Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, and Romeo and Juliet. Currently, he serves as Artistic Director of Company Unblanche (Tokyo) and Associate Artistic Director at the Margot Fonteyn Academy. Krenstetter has won awards including the Prix de Lausanne and the Fonteyn Legacy Centenary Award.

Congratulations to Pre-Pro full-time student Chelsea-Lee, who has graduated from TPA straight into a company contract with the Slovak National Theatre ballet company in Slovakia!

We couldn’t be more proud of Chelsea-Lee and are thrilled at her success in achieving her dream of a professional company contract after training at TPA for over 11 years!
We are delighted to hear that Chelsea has had a wonderful first performance with the company on the world stage as a professional artist.

After the Prix de Lausanne, Chelsea-Lee has been on her private audition tour organised by TPA Artistic Director Lisa-Maree Cullum and has been successful in receiving this offer of a professional contract performing at the Grand Audition in Barcelona.

A special mention to Lisa-Maree who facilitated the amazing audition opportunities and experiences of taking class privately with professional companies on her individually organised tour! Thank you for your dedication and care in navigating our TPA students through a successful audition process.

Congratulations to Sophia for her exceptional performance as a Finalist at The Fonteyn 2024.

The Royal Academy of Dance’s Margot Fonteyn International Ballet Competition, known simply as The Fonteyn, represents the pinnacle of achievement for young dancers trained in the RAD syllabus.

Sophia spoke with Olivia Weeks writer of Dance Australia about her excitement to perform at The Fonteyn 2024: “I have been thrilled to be able to perform on such a grand stage, expressing my love for dancing in the finals.”
The article continued to say: “Hudson’s poise and precision in her Classical Variation left a lasting impression on the audience, and her passion for ballet was evident in every movement. For this 17-year-old, the opportunity to compete on the world stage was a dream come true, but it was also a reflection of years of dedication and support from her teachers, Gilli O’Connell, Emma Jane Morton, and Lisa-Maree Cullum.”

We are thrilled to announce that Pre-Professional Full-Time student Sophia has been selected as Finalist for The Margot Fonteyn International Ballet Competition 2024, known as The Fonteyn.

We are so proud of Sophia and wish her the best of luck for the finals tonight.

Over 60 candidates from 13 countries took part in The Fonteyn semi-finals this week, with 12 finalists from five countries making it through to compete in The Fonteyn 2024 final today, Sunday 8 September 2024, at His Majesty’s Theatre in London.

We are thrilled that world-renowned Prima Ballerina Margaret Illmann will be our special guest teacher at our ELITE BALLET MASTER CLASSES 2024 – SEP 29 & 30!

Margaret enjoyed a 21 year career as an international Principal ballerina before obtaining her Bachelor of Physiotherapy to focus on Dance/movement Physiotherapy and Performance coaching.
She began her dance training in the Cecchetti method before joining the Australian Ballet Company (Hon.Dip Dance ABS), then becoming Principal dancer with the Canadian, Stuttgart, Berlin and Vienna Ballet Companies. Principal guesting included New York City Ballet, English National Ballet, La Scala Milan, Hamburg Ballet, Dresden Ballet, Bavarian State Ballet Munich and Zurich, dancing the major repertoire.
Coaches included Makarova, Popa, Dowell, Robbins, Haydee, Grant, Golovine, Schaufuss + Verdi. One highlight was representing Australia and dancing Juliet with the Royal Danish Ballet for the Wedding Gala of Mary Donaldson.
Margaret received a number of honours including South Australian Young Achievers Award and a Pommery Scholarship to study with Paris Opera School. Her varied career included published articles, television appearances and the lead role on Broadway as Victoria Page in The Red Shoes (1994-1995). Here she was awarded The Theatre World Award as Best Actress on Broadway, the Fred Astaire Prize as Best Dancer on Broadway and a New York Drama Desk Nomination. Canadian television made specials about her work, and she was presented with main European Critics’ Awards.
Returning to Australia mid-2005 she coordinated/lectured for the Ballet department (West Australian Academy of the Performing Arts), obtained a degree in Teaching/Assessment and Business/Marketing. She then obtained a Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Notre Dame University Perth. Now she focuses in Dance Physiotherapy and is a guest adjudicator and performance coach.
She is a member of APA and Honorary Member of Cecchetti Australia. Margaret enjoys sharing her knowledge with the community of her home in the South - West Western Australia.

Our students are progressing well in their weekly Pas de Deux training session with Victor Zarallo (Former Soloist - Scottish Ballet and Sydney Dance Company).

It is an important aspect of our full-time program at TPA to give students the opportunity to have regular training session and performances in pas deux, learning from very experienced expert teachers.
