PAUL KNOBLOCH

Paul Knobloch is a distinguished Australian choreographer, creative director, and ballet répétiteur with an extensive career spanning stage, film, and television. An honours graduate of The Australian Ballet School, he quickly rose to the rank of soloist at The Australian Ballet before joining Béjart Ballet Lausanne as a principal artist in 2009.

Throughout his career, Knobloch has collaborated with leading companies worldwide, including English National Ballet, Alonzo King Lines Ballet, West Australian Ballet, and Sydney Dance Company. His repertoire encompasses a wide range of leading classical roles and innovative works created in collaboration with renowned choreographers. As a choreographer, he has received critical acclaim and has been commissioned by companies across Australia, Europe, Canada, and the United States.

A highly sought-after teacher and mentor, Knobloch has shared his expertise with many leading companies across the world, including Les Ballets de Monte Carlo, Tokyo Ballet, Hong Kong Ballet, and numerous others. Honoured in 2001 as the ACT Young Australian of the Year, he is a highly awarded artist dedicated to pushing choreographic boundaries and inspiring the next generation of dancers. Currently, Paul serves as The Australian Ballet’s répétiteur for the National Tour and Storytime Ballet, in addition to working as a freelance choreographer and guest teacher.

As a Guest Artist-in-Residence at the Tanya Pearson Academy, Paul Knobloch brings a wealth of international professional experience, artistic integrity, and refined classical and contemporary expertise. His work with students is deeply informed by his career as a principal artist, répétiteur, and choreographer, offering invaluable insight into professional standards, rehearsal processes, and performance excellence. Paul’s coaching and creative mentorship provide students with rare access to world-class training, fostering artistry, versatility, and readiness for the demands of an international dance career.
