RILEY FITZGERALD

We are delighted to welcome Riley Fitzgerald to Tanya Pearson Academy as our new Choreographer and Contemporary Dance Teacher.

Riley brings with him a wealth of international experience and artistic depth, having performed and choreographed with some of the world’s most respected dance companies and creators. A graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School and the New Zealand School of Dance, Riley has trained under celebrated mentors and performed works by renowned choreographers such as Damien Jalet, Huang Yi, Rafael Bonachela, and Antony Hamilton.

His professional journey has taken him from Sydney Dance Company—where he performed as a soloist in acclaimed works including ab [intra], Impermanence, I Am-ness, and Six Breaths—to Europe with Ballet National de Marseille under the direction of La Horde. Most recently, Riley premiered his original work Everyb0dy’s G0t a B0mb in Sydney and will tour it internationally in 2025.

In addition to his extensive stage experience, Riley is a sought-after creator in multimedia, having choreographed and starred in the award-winning music video Hummus by Parisian group Aufgang, earning international recognition.

Riley’s appointment marks an exciting chapter for our Contemporary and Choreographic programs. His creative vision, professional rigour, and inspiring presence will offer our students the opportunity to explore new artistic dimensions while developing strong contemporary technique and performance skills.
